If you were at Nora Patterson Park this morning, you may have noticed a large number of law enforcement officers. Not to worry, this was part of their monthly Emergency Response Team (ERT) training. The Sarasota Police Department trains with the Sarasota County (FL) Sheriff's Office once a month on various real-world scenarios. This morning’s exercise was based on an actual call during one of last year’s hurricanes, when a person jumped into the water in an attempt to return home after the bridg
