11-12 July 1992 Placido Domingo stars in a performance of Puccini's opera "Tosca" given in three acts, live, from Rome. Domingo was chosen to reprise his role of Cavaradossi having previously filmed a version (mimed to his own recording) of the opera in 1976 for director Gianfranco de Bosio. The initial live transmissions at odd times of the day were on BBC2 but the complete opera was repeated by Channel 4 at a more sociable hour.
