Researchers at HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus developed a new way for engineered protein biosensors and bright, fluorescent Janelia Fluor dyes to work together, creating a new sensor for measuring the signals between cells in live animals. Being able to see this activity could give biologists insight into how cells, tissues, and organs work together to carry out important functions.
