Jul 27, 2010 · The GVWR on the i.d. plate of 16K was the GVWR off the production line, but then future dump trucks go to a finisher that adds the dump box and swaps out the axle/s & springs to a heavier set. That puts the actual GVWR up around 20K, and of course it all adds weight, so depending on the actual box on the truck you'll be lookin at 8-9K tare weight.

Dec 5, 2001 · Look in junk yards on the BIG Chevy/GMC trucks of the 1940s,50s,60, for a used PTO. They are very rugged units and are a good junk yard bet. Some big old dump trucks will even have directions on a dash decal telling how to work the PTO.

Jan 9, 2011 · The current PTO for the dump is on the driver's side and connects via a driveshaft to the pump for the dump. I was looking to add another driveshaft off the passenger's side headed forward to a Garwood military PTO winch. I am currently trying to track down a Muncie or a Chelsea PTO (don't know of any others) made for the SM465.
