Dec 27, 2020 · I worked at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1998 for Elias concessions. On event days they would be operated by non-profits. During the regular work week we would stock the stands from the sub level warehouse below the Silverdome. One of the ramps led to our dock. The ramp on the other side is where players/visitors entered.

They tried, and failed. It was a drive-in movie theater at one point (among other things), they also had plans to make it into a mini-mall. In the end, the owner ran out of money, couldn't pay the workers, so construction stopped. I live about five minutes from the Silverdome...such a waste.

Dec 10, 2020 · The Lions were the biggest draw in the Silverdome in the mid and late 90's. 2002, the Lions were playing at Ford Field. They still had concerts at the Silverdome, tried having drive in movies, skating, but the Silverdome cost a lot to maintain and with Comerica Park and Ford Field in Detroit, they weren't drawing as many concerts.

Jul 18, 2022 · The Silverdome had more obstructed view seats than any other venue. So, there was always a good chance you would have a post blocking part of your view. The thing I remember most, however, was the noise. The place was just so damn loud all the time. It was awesome because it would hurt opposing QBs that liked to call audibles.

Mar 27, 2023 · Yeah it was a cluster getting out of there. Truly amazing that no one died at the show, it was so poorly run by the Silverdome. It would've been too easy to have an event like Cincinnati. Great concert, though. So glad I got to see them with Moon!
