Aug 18, 2013 · My big generator is powered by a genuine Honda GX270. Unlike my five Chonda clones it is my only pain in the butt. What is happening this time: The engine surges unless on half choke. Not so fast... New fuel and I put a new carb on it and it still does it. Carb is adjustable and has been set as the Honda manual dictates.

Dec 16, 2009 · I recently purchased and assembled a log splitter from Northern Tool. The engine is a Honda GX270 with a pull start. Following the manual, I added the recommended oil and fuel, turned the engine knob to 'on,' fuel to 'on,' choke to 'off,' and proceeded to give the pull cord a good 30 full yanks before giving up. The engine never caught.

Jan 2, 2009 · I have a Honda 5.5hp GX series engine (red fan shroud with white tank). The engine has no spark. I cleaned off the flywheel and still no spark. I am willing to throw some parts at it to fix it. Should I just replace the coil or condenser/both?

Dec 10, 2008 · Here is an update on the apparent fuel problem with my snowblower: On Sunday I opened the main jet on the bottom of the carburetor about 1/8 turn. At first the engine ran a little rougher but soon smoothed out. Yesterday I had to move a lot of heavy, drifted snow.

If you need a big ol heat blasting, utilitarian, steel stove (that can run on a 6" flue to boot), then it is pretty hard to beat the NC30 and its cousins (for this price range).
