Oban War & Peace Museum contains a fascinating collection of artefacts and photographs depicting the rich cultural history of the busy port town and its people.
"The aim of the Museum is to advance the education of present and future generations by collecting, maintaining, conserving and exhibiting items of historical and cultural interest relating to the Oban area in peace time and during the war years."
Adult volunteers of all ages are welcome and there is no requirement to have any association with the armed forces – the museum covers Oban in peacetime as well as the war years. You will get the chance to meet and talk with some of the 30,000 plus visitors from the UK and around the world who call in to the museum during the year.
If you become a ‘Friend’ of Oban War & Peace Museum you will be supporting the work of our museum and you will help us to develop our facilities and preserve our Collection now and for future generations.
Numbers are limited for visits to the museum in normal opening hours due to space restrictions and the presence of other visitors. It is essential for the school to provide sufficient qualified helpers to escort pupils in small groups when touring the museum – …
