It does not matter what the source is. The problem has occured coming from the cable box, TV apps (YouTube and Max), and from an Amazon Fire Stick. I called Sony tech support. The tech took control of the TV, checked a few things, and instructed me to do a factory reset. Since then, the problem has reappeared 3 times.

When ever I play a Youtube HDR video in full-screen the adaptive britness goes crazy, the video just goes from bright to dark or flickers. This only happens on youtube while playing HDR content, I tested while playing a 4k HDR in the Video app and it works just fine, nothing crazy going on.
Choppy YouTube playback on Sony Internet TV
I have a NSX32GT1 - 32" Sony Internet TV. Most youtube videos play choppy because they stop to fill the buffer. I have a very fast internet connection and have never experienced this issue on even my oldest laptop. I have changed wireless routers and even switched from Comcast to Verizon FIOS and still even 2 minute videos would stop for buffering.
