Somerville is a small town in Morgan County, Alabama. It is included in the Decatur Metropolitan Area, as well as the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population of the town is 724. Somerville was the county seat of Morgan County from 1818 to 1891, when the seat was moved to Decatur.

The park is free to the public and is located just off HWY 67, next to the Somerville Cemetery. Please leave it as you find it for others to enjoy! The pavilion and ballfield can be reserved through Town Hall, otherwise it can be used on a first come-first served basis.

The Somerville Public Library is located on Broad Street across from the Masonic Lodge. There is a wide selection of books to choose from and free computer access for study or job searches. In the summer, the Library will host a free summer reading program for the kids.

Somerville Cemetery "Garden of sunshine and perfect peace" The Historic Somerville Cemetery, circa: 1820, is a beautiful and peaceful resting place going back to 1820 and perhaps even earlier. There are many tombstones that are so old and worn, they cannot be read.
