Jul 4, 2023 · You will get much better budding if the plant is healthy and this one looks like it could be struggling a bit. Might be better to concentrate on working out what it likes before trying for small. As pruning hard is no problem it won't matter if it grows a bit taller while you get it healthy and I'm certain you'll get better response.

Sep 11, 2024 · I've taken multiple cuttings and just popped them in a little bonsai training pot to make a forest before they had any roots. You could let them grow for a few months then assemble your forest. Really, as long as you let the cuttings dry for a few days to callous over, then plant them in a well draining mix they will usually survive.
