May 7, 2022 · What you do is to rotate the compass so that the needle points to the magnetic marker, not to North. So, the needle should also be pointing 7 degrees east of North. When you do that, North is pointing to True North. Assuming the base of the compass is rectangular, you can align the mount to the side of the compass base.
