500,000 years ago, Kronos was working in his laboratory in the Earth Eternals' city of Titanos on an experiment with cosmic energy when he accidentally caused an explosion that destroyed Titanos and Kronos' physical body.

Kronos saves the soul of Arthur Douglas, killed by a barrage from the ship of the Titan, Thanos. He subsequently uses Douglas' soul to create Drax the Destroyer , a being intended to kill Thanos, his own grandson.

Kronos, the Monarch of the Eternals is also a philosopher and scientist. He leads the Eternals on Titanos, studies the universe and eventually becomes one with it, overseeing the Eternals as a benevolent god.
