On 19 October 2022, Channel 4 announced that they were launching a new 'digital-first' brand named Channel 4.0, which would appeal to 13–24 year olds. The logo for the new brand uses a 4 logo strikingly similar to the Channel 4 logo that was used from 1999 to 2004.

A flat 2D version of the Channel 4 logo can be seen in the top right corner of the screen. Starting in July 1994, the clock was given a hazy gray ring around the hour hands, and the logo is also pushed further into the corner as well.

Having created the logo, Lambie Nairn then used a computer to animate outlines of the blocks to the final freeze. The movements were then hand coloured and shot, but it didnt work, it was lacking shadow and lighting.
