The Scepter, occasionally referred to as Loki's Scepter, was a staff weapon that served as the original containment vessel for the Mind Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones. Gifted by Thanos, the staff was wielded by Loki to lead and command the Chitauri Invasion to Earth.

On Earth-616, King Loki morphed Freyja's staff into its current shape upon taking it from her, though it was quickly stolen away by his rejuvenated younger self. After both Lokis reconciled, Loki contained King Loki's essence in his scepter.

The Scepter was first confirmed as holding one of the Infinity Stones by Thor towards the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, after the "birth" of the Vision. An identical scepter appears in the animated series Avengers Assemble where it is used by Loki. The mind control aspects of Scepter can be ended by giving the victim a hard hit to the head.
