A shooting victim was found after officers were sent to a ShotSpotter activation on Cambridge Street in Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD – A man was wounded by gunfire in the McKnight neighborhood Sunday afternoon. Police responded to an audio ShotSpotter activation at about 3:30 p.m. and found the injured victim on Cambridge Street, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman. The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is expected to recover from his injury, he said.
