Russia warned the West and Ukraine on Friday of "disastrous consequences" if Kyiv moved against close Russian ally Belarus, making clear it would intervene to defend a country where it has deployed tactical nuclear weapons.

The drone attack destroyed a Russian military arsenal in Tver, triggering a blast powerful enough to be detected by earthquake monitors and NASA satellites.

Some allies of Ukraine have raised concerns that such action would escalate the war with Russia, according to The Hill. Russian President Vladimir Putin argued that it would change the conflict completely. "It would mean that NATO countries, the US, European countries, are at war with Russia," he said.

A senior Russian lawmaker on Thursday said that Ukrainian strikes on Russia with Western missiles would lead to global war with the use of nuclear weapons and that Moscow's response would be tough with more powerful weapons.

Despite limited resources, Ukraine is beginning to achieve measurable results in targeting Russian logistics. However, it cannot currently rely on the freedom to use Western weapons on Russian territory.
