The legal team representing the alleged victims of the former owner of Harrods, Mohamed Al Fayed, say the late billionaire was a “monster” whose crimes were “enabled” by the high-end department store.

Lawyers representing a group of women who claim they were sexually assaulted by Mohamed Al-Fayed revealed details of the alleged abuse at a press conference in London on Friday, Sept. 20

Lawyers in Britain representing dozens of women say that Mohamed Al Fayed — the former boss of Harrods — was a “monster” who raped and sexually abused young women throughout his time at the helm of the world-renowned London department store.

But 37 former Harrods employees have now come forward accusing him of raping or sexually assaulting them during the 25 years he owned the department store. Today, lawyers representing them described Al Fayed – who died last year – as a predator. And they accused Harrods of enabling a “vast web of abuse” during that time.

A BBC investigation heard testimony from more than 20 women who said they were sexually assaulted by the billionaire.

Attorneys for 37 women said they would sue Harrods, the luxury department store, over the rape and sexual assault they say its former owner committed.
