Famed competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut has reclaimed his title at the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July hot dog eating contest after skipping last year’s event.

Chestnut, 41, had won eight consecutive titles heading into 2024. Last year’s contest was won by Patrick Bertoletti, who finished second this year wit 46.5 hot dogs and buns consumed. Miki Sudo claimed the pink belt in the women’s contest after eating 33 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

Joey "Jaws" Chestnut on Friday regained his longtime title of champion in the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating contest at New York City's Coney Island after he was banned from the competition last year.
