Delhi NCR enforces GRAP Stage 3 due to hazardous air quality, halting non-essential construction and restricting vehicle use to reduce pollution levels

Delhi's air quality remains severe, prompting GRAP-III restrictions under which stringent ban will be put in place on construction and demolition activities among others.

The air pollution condition has worsened in Delhi NCR as AQI remains in severe category for the second consecutive day. The Delhi government has implemented GRAP III restrictions in Delhi.

GRAP stage 3 will come into force at 8am on Friday. The Delhi government announced that classes for primary schools will be shifted to online.

The introduction of Stage 3 in the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) includes specific limitations to reduce air pollution, focusing on emissions from construction and vehicles. THREE new restrictions will be implemented on November 15 due to residents' construction and demolition limitations.

For the third consecutive day, Delhi continues to grapple with the adverse consequences of remaining in the 'severe' air quality zone with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 400 plus on Friday.

In response to dangerously high pollution levels, the Delhi government has ordered the closure of all primary schools starting Friday, with classes shifting online until further notice. Chief Minister Atishi made the announcement on social media.

As of early Thursday morning, the AQI at key locations like Anand Vihar, Bawana, Dwarka Sector 8, and Jahangirpuri surpassed 400, entering the "severe" category.

Delhi residents woke up to ‘severe’ air quality on Thursday morning (November 14), a day after the national capital recorded the worst AQI in the country, with dense fog blanketing the NCR, reducing visibility.
