The New Mexico Department of Transportation is sponsoring car seat inspection clinics on Saturday, September 21 from 9 – 11 a.m. at 11 different locations across the state. The event educates parents and caregivers about the importance of properly securing children in the correct car seat.

The Texas Department of Transportation hosted a car seat safety inspection on Friday. The third week of September is National Car Seat Safety Week and TxDOT wants to make sure parents and guardians have their children properly secured.

TRAVERSE CITY — Saturday is National Car Seat Check Day, and Safe Kids North Shore (the local chapter of Safe Kids Worldwide) is hosting an event at Williams Chevrolet in Traverse City.

A car seat check will be held in Mercer County in September 2024. According to a press release, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Mercer County Gardner Center, a car seat check will be held by the West Virginia Coalfields Highway Safety Program.

On National Seat Check Saturday, certified child passenger safety technicians will be available at car seat check stations around the country.

The Macon County Health Department is offering free car seat checks this week. Certified child passenger safety technicians will check if caregivers have the right seats for their children’s ages and sizes on Sept.

Last year, 78% of car seats inspected by safety technicians were not being used correctly, according to the Child Passenger Safety Board.
