But the reaction of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams stood out most after the final whistle when the Jets were heading back to their locker room.

One can be certain this is not the way the play was drawn up. The New York Jets decided to pull out all the stops since there was no reason to hide anything in the playbook on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

After clearing out his locker Monday, the receiver didn't sound overly willing to play for the Jets if Aaron Rodgers is gone.

The Green Bay Packers have a lot to play for in terms of the postseason to end 2024, but two former franchise greats are chasing NFL milestones over the final two games of the season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Davante Adams — now with the New York Jets — can hit special marks to finish 2024.

After Sunday night’s season finale victory against the Miami Dolphins, Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers walked off the field together, possibly for the final time as teammates. On Monday, Adams told reporters Rodgers’ status will impact the 32-year-old’s future with the team.

There's no doubting that Davante Adams has been a boon for the offense. Over his nine games with the team, the wide receiver has caught 56 passes for 719 yards and six touchdowns. He is tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns and trails just Garrett Wilson in receptions and yardage.

Rumblings emerged shortly after New York Jets owner Woody Johnson dismissed general manager Joe Douglas in November, claiming that the Jets would part ways with noteworthy veteran players such as quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams during the upcoming offseason as part of a franchise reset.

Now, one of the game's greatest quarterbacks could leave the Jets just as he found them — with a lonely Super Bowl trophy in their front lobby from their only title (1969) and a playoff drought that has reached an NFL-worst 14 seasons.
