Eagles coach Nick Sirianni decided this Sunday would be a day of rest for the Eagles’ starters and nobody was more impacted than Saquon Barkley. That meant the running back’s pursuit of Eric Dickerson’s 40-year-old rushing record was over even though it was very much within reach.

With the players off on Monday, Sirianni said he would not disclose the plan for the starters publicly before telling the team first.
