From the sounds of early returns, the Chiefs could indeed rest starters with the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up. The only question was if Andy Reid and the Chiefs were willing to let the starters rest for two-plus weeks by skipping Week 18 before sitting out on the Round 1 bye.

After beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, the Kansas City Chiefs locked up the top seed in the AFC playoffs. Their 15-1 record is currently the best in the league and puts them two games ahead of the Buffalo Bills heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Chiefs have clinched the top seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs so they plan to rest many starters when they play the Broncos.
