The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ordered lower courts to review appellate decisions involving transgender people after the justices' ruling last week banned gender-affirming care for minors.

The justices ordered the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, to review its decision that West Virginia’s and North Carolina’s refusal to cover certain health care for transgender people with government-sponsored insurance is discriminatory.

Enbridge is seeking state and federal permits to build a deep underground tunnel beneath the straits into which an approximately four-mile section of the pipeline would be rerouted. The existing pipeline runs between the Upper and Lower peninsulas along Great Lakes bottomlands at the straits, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet.
