A climate change group has submitted a suggestion to Welsh government officials to create dog-free zones in an effort to combat racism, according to reports.

The Welsh government has been told to ban dogs from the countryside in a bid to tackle racism. It comes as part of the government's plans to end racism in Wales by 2030, ensuring that "all areas" of public life are transformed.

Conservatives called the proposals "completely out of touch" and said Labour is "stuck on yesterday's thinking".

There are calls for "dog-free areas" to be introduced in Wales as part of the Welsh government's anti-racism action plan.

The recommendation has partly been driven by environmental groups as Labour's devolved administration sets out plans to ensure 'all areas' of public life are transformed.
