BOSTON – Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 4, that the team has acquired defenseman Max Wanner, a 2025 second-round draft pick (from St. Louis) and a 2026 fourth-round draft pick from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones.

The Bruins made their first move of trade deadline season on Tuesday, dealing forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones to the Oilers. Boston announced that it had acquired Edmonton prospect Max Wanner, a second-round pick in this year’s draft, and a fourth-round selection in 2026.

Two forwards who didn’t have the seasons the Bruins had hoped for are headed to the defending Western Conference champs as Boston dealt its most accomplished fighter. The Devils confirmed that the Bruins are shipping Trent Frederic and Max Jones to the Edmonton Oilers as part of a three-way trade with the New Jersey.
