President Donald Trump stirred up social media Wednesday with a bold claim: Coca-Cola is about to ditch high‑fructose corn syrup in favor of real cane sugar, just like the beloved Mexican version.

Asked about the switch, a representative for Coca-Cola didn’t explicitly say it would use cane sugar for products in the U.S.

"The American Medical Association has confirmed that HFCS is no more likely to contribute to obesity than table sugar or other full-calorie sweeteners," the post continued. "Please be assured that Coca-Cola brand soft drinks do not contain any harmful substances."
