SAN FRANCISCO — Buster Posey has executed his first true shake-up as the Giants’ president of baseball operations. The Giants announced a flurry of roster moves Wednesday, the headliner being the decision to designate first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. for assignment.

With the offense stalling to historic levels, president of baseball operations Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants brass made their first big roster shuffle of the season. Most notably, longtime Giant LaMonte Wade Jr.

LaMonte Wade Jr., a graduate of St. Paul’s in Brooklandville and former Terps star, was designated for assignment by the Giants.
