Beginning Tuesday, rideshare hailers on Uber in Austin, Texas, can call a driverless Waymo, from Google’s parent company, Alphabet, for the first time. Travelers will be able to book rides across 37 square miles in Austin, the backyard of competitor Tesla, and in the Lone Star State that has long been a testing ground for driverless vehicles.

Uber Technologies Inc chief executive officer Dara Khosrowshahi said Elon Musk was not open to making Tesla Inc's planned robotaxis available on the ride-sharing platform, making Uber a future competitor.

Tesla is offering free Supercharging to buyers of a $100,000 Cybertruck. The incentive is the latest attempt to increase sales, which have stagnated in recent years. The offer, however, has conditions.
