Sunshine Ladies members collected items for the Pregnancy Resource Center April 1 during a meeting at Joe's Italian Restaurant in Hammond.

The first shooting occurred around 9:25 p.m. near the festival's ticket booth at Ponchatoula Memorial Park, where deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office found two wounded teenage boys.

The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival was abruptly shut down Saturday night after a person was shot on the festival grounds, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
