Republican Jefferson Griffin narrowly lost his race for a North Carolina Supreme Court seat. He’s asking the justices to throw out tens of thousands of votes.

The state Supreme Court on Wednesday said it would not immediately decide on Judge Jefferson Griffin’s request to discard votes cast in his election, sending the case back to Wake County Superior Court.

In a blow to Jefferson Griffin, the Republican candidate for a seat on the state Supreme Court, that court has ordered that it won't fast-track his effort to throw
