Saudi Arabia's Arabsat signed a deal for broadband capacity from Telesat’s proposed low Earth orbit constellation, a day after SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced approval to sell LEO services to maritime and aviation customers in the region.

Senate Democrats are demanding a federal investigation into whether President Donald Trump ‘s administration is aiding Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, to secure access to foreign markets. Their call comes as Musk announced at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum that Saudi Arabia has approved Starlink services for aviation and maritime use.

State Department officials both in Washington and in Gambia have been aggressively pushing for the West African country to approve a license for Starlink, which is owned and operated by SpaceX, of which Musk owns a $150 billion stake.
