R-Truth Reveals WWE Release After 17 Years with Company and Loss to John Cena at SNME
R-Truth recently competed against WWE Champion John Cena in a losing effort at Saturday Night's Main Event on May 24. His final match in WWE was a loss to JC Matteo on the May 28 episode of SmackDown. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that the decision to release R-Truth was met with "shock and disbelief" from other WWE Superstars:
