The fight reportedly started after one of the Polk County high school basketball players repeated called the other team racial slurs, authorities said.

The 16-year-old Rockmart player was allegedly provoked by the Sonoraville player because he “kept calling him the N-word and he lost his temper,” according to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report. The Rockmart player is facing two charges of simple battery, according to the police report.
