Gonzalez, 61, has a long history with the Braves, and in the broader NL East. He was a coach with the Braves from 2003-2006 and then became the Miami Marlins’ manager from 2007-2010.

After parting ways with the Braves in May 2016, González spent stints with the Miami Marlins (third base coach, 2017-18) and Baltimore Orioles (bench coach, 2019-21).
