A display rumor states that the MacBook Air (2027), like existing MacBook Pro models, will switch from amorphous silicon to oxide TFT LCD.

Apple's reported development of an oxide LCD panel for the MacBook Air is another sign that the OLED MacBook Air is still a long way from becoming a reality.

As reported by The Elec, the OLED MacBook Air has now been delayed until 2029, even though it was already set back until just after 2027. Initially, it was expected to follow the rumored OLED MacBook Pro in 2026, but these plans have now changed.
