Rafael Caro Quintero, the notorious Mexican drug lord convicted of orchestrating the 1985 murder of a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent, was extradited to the United States on Thursday alongside 28 other cartel members.

Mexico has extradited dozens of drug cartel figures to the U.S., including Rafael Caro Quintero -- who was behind the kidnapping and murder of DEA agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena.

As Mexico and the U.S. negotiate trade tariffs, the Mexican government has handed over 29 cartel leaders and members who were wanted in the U.S.
