SAN MARCOS, Texas — A suspect is in custody after a SWAT operation early Thursday morning in San Marcos. According to the San Marcos Police Department, law enforcement received a report of a person held hostage at an apartment complex at the 1600 block of Aquarena Springs Dr.

Residents were ordered to shelter in place Sunday after SWAT was called out to south Austin. The order has since been lifted.

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - An attempt to serve an arrest warrant turned into a SWAT operation, when a man refused to come out of a house. It happened in the 800 block of Sheryl Lane in Longview this morning. Longview police said SWAT is often on scene at a warrant arrest, just in case, and this time their tactics were needed.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Seven San Antonio police officers were shot while responding to a “suicide in progress” call and the suspect was later found dead inside an apartment after a standoff, the city’s police chief said.

The officers went to an apartment in San Antonio and were shot by a barricaded man, who was found dead, the authorities said.

A Livingston man accused in the death of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham has pleaded guilty and accepted a life without parole sentence. The trial for a man accused of murdering a pregnant Kilgore woman has been delayed by nearly a year.
