With sleet and snow now falling in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, many of the school districts that were waiting to make a decision about Friday have now announced closures.

Here’s what your school district or university is saying about closings or delays this week, and how they’ll notify you about schedule changes. **Will be updated!**

The National Weather Service projects up to 2 inches of combined ice and snow across much of the area, with higher amounts possible locally.

"All Austin ISD schools and offices will operate on normal schedules Thursday, Jan. 9, but due to rain and cold temperatures, all afterschool outdoor athletic activities will be canceled and any other outdoor activities will move indoors," Austin ISD wrote on Facebook.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools announced Thursday afternoon that district schools and offices will be closed Friday due to the snow forecast. Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland, Millington and University schools are also closed,
