Andrew Duarte's girlfriend said he texted her a selfie minutes before the shootout, showing him wearing his body armor protective vest.

Authorities described the shooting of a gunman who opened fire at a Pennsylvania hospital as “absolutely justified, beyond any and all doubt.”

UPMC released a statement on social media saying the hospital is "now secure" and that law enforcement is managing the situation.
