Two people are in the hospital after a shooting at a homeless encampment in south Minneapolis Friday evening. Police say it happened near the 2200 block of Cedar Avenue South around 5:40 p.m. Officers there found a woman with gunshots wounds that are not considered life threatening.

Council Member Jason Chavez said council members are exploring two new ordinances, based off of successes in other cities including Duluth and Denver.

Authorities have identified the two Twin Cities men killed in a triple shooting at a Minneapolis homeless encampment Sunday. Christopher Martell Washington, 38, of Fridley, and Louis Mitchell Lemons Jr., 32, of Brooklyn Center, both died at the scene, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
