In the wake of Jurassic Park changing Hollywood forever, Jurassic World Rebirth uses its digitally created dinosaurs as a metaphor for CGI in the modern era.

Through the years, the dinosaurs have grown bigger, faster, and more intelligent-terrifying with every installment from The Lost World to Jurassic World: Dominion. But dinosaurs have never been one and all.

The Universal Pictures release, directed by Gareth Edwards, opened on Wednesday and earned $147.3 million in its first five days in 4,308 North American theaters. An estimated $91.5 million of that comes from the traditional “three day” weekend, which includes the Friday holiday, Saturday and projected Sunday ticket sales.
