Dr. Sylvia Trent-Adams resigned as president of the UNT Health Science Center after the hospital used unclaimed bodies for medical research without consent.

The university system said the president of its Fort Worth-based Health Science Center would resign after more than two years in the role.

The president of the University of North Texas Health Science Center will step down at the end of the month after an investigation revealed the institution used unclaimed bodies as cadavers or sold them to researchers without permission from next of kin or the deceased themselves.
