An investigation is underway into a crash involving a Rhode Island State Police cruiser Thursday evening. Police were called to the intersection of Routes 102 and 101 in Scituate around 7:30 p.m. for a trooper-involved crash.

Rhode Island State Police said a cruiser was involved in a crash in Scituate on March 20. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Route 102 and Route 101. Police said that the cruiser was travelling southbound when it hit a car travelling westbound.

An apparent crash in Scituate appeared to involve a State Police trooper's cruiser Thursday night. The crash happened on Route 102 in the area of Chopmist Road. An NBC 10 viewer said the police cruiser and another vehicle seemed seriously damaged. Traffic was also reportedly diverted.
