The Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons are missing Hall Effect sticks, meaning they share the same characteristics as the original controllers.

After several days of not providing a direct answer about the technology used in the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons, Nintendo has finally confirmed that the new console’s controllers do not employ anti-drift Hall effect joysticks.

A recent interview with Nintendo's Nate Bihldorff confirms that the new console will not utilize Hall effect sensors in its Switch 2 controllers, a sore spot for Switch's stick-drift sufferers.
