Sixers center Joel Embiid undergoes surgery on knee injury
Last season, Embiid was limited to 39 games due to a torn meniscus in his left knee. In February 2024, the Sixers' big man underwent surgery and returned in early April for the team's playoff run. Embiid then won a gold medal with Team USA in the Paris Games.

The Philadelphia 76ers announced that center Joel Embiid has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Embiid played just 19 games during the 2024-25 season before being shut down in February because of his knee injury.
