A big rig has struck and killed a person on northbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento early Thursday morning, authorities say.

All lanes of northbound I-5 between Sutterville Road and Highway 50 in Sacramento have reopened, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 6 a.m., the CHP closed all northbound lanes after a fatal collision along the interstate.

According to the California Highway Patrol, all northbound lanes on the freeway just north of Sutterville Road are closed.
