The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released 11 songs for its new hymnbook on Thursday, including a translation of a Spanish hymn and a new melody for a familiar hymn.
The LDS Church's first collection of hymns was gathered by Emma Smith, the wife of Joseph Smith, who founded the LDS Church in the 1820s and 30s. This collection was published in 1835.
