BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Louisiana State Police is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Ascension Parish. They were asked to look into the shooting by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office around 1 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.

In an early morning incident, an Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputy shot someone who later died at the hospital. The Louisiana State Police are investigating.

Around 1 a.m. on Monday, February 10, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) requested assistance from LSP’s Bureau of Investigations to investigate the incident near LA 44 and West Orice Roth Road. One person was injured and taken to a hospital where they died from their injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.
