A Ukrainian drone attack launched overnight succeeded in destroying an ammunition depot in the western Russian region of Tver, a source from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) told CNN on Wednesday.

In Toropets, Tver region, Russia, a fire broke out during the night of September 18. The fire occurred against the backdrop of a drone attack and ongoing air defense operations in the region, according to the governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted border regions such as Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod. The attack on Tver, about 500 kilometers from the border, is not as common, but is an example of what Ukrainian officials have repeatedly said they want to do in order to hit Russian military infrastructure that could be used to attack Ukraine.
